Heatherslaw was once the industrial heart of Ford & Etal Estates and Ford Forge has provided a base for a range of local industries. In a series of open days here you can learn more, including how the Forge functioned as a place of worship for several years.
The Till Valley Archaeological Society (TILVAS) has been quietly compiling the history of the area for many years and has curated this small and charming exhibition which is open between 12:00 and 16:00 every Friday and Sunday from 26th April to the 30th August.
Ford Forge can be found at Heatherslaw, in front of the Light Railway car park. The entrance is roadside on the B6354. There are stairs up to the door so unfortunately it is not readily accessible to disabled visitors.
