The Ford & Etal Easter Trail runs for four days from Good Friday, 7th April, to Easter Monday, 10th April, 2023. Pick up a free Easter Trail map from the Lavender Tearooms in Etal village, from the Visitor Centre or Heatherslaw Corn Mill Gift Shop in the hamlet of Heatherslaw, or from Ford Village Shop in Ford.
The Trail map shows you where to search for the numbered picture-rubbing plaques in Etal, Heatherslaw and Ford. When you find each plaque make a note of what is pictured on it, using the reverse of your trail sheet. All twelve plaques have pictures of animals, insects and plants that you can actually see growing and living here on Ford & Etal Estates, though some are quite shy and hard to spot in the wild. You can also take picture rubbings of each plaque, which is great fun. Remember to bring some paper and pencils or crayons with you to take rubbings. If you forget to bring any with you don’t worry, notepads and packets of crayons can be purchased in the Lavender Tearooms, Ford Village shop and Heatherslaw Corn Mill Gift Shop.
