Sled Dog Association of Scotland Competition Event

Sled Dog Association of Scotland Competition Event

The Sled Dog Association of Scotland is running a two-day dryland Dog Mushing competition event at Ford & Etal Estates. There are a range of classes for anything from one to 10 dogs in harness, competitors follow a 2.7 mile grass trail, with timed point to point runs, over two heats. There are open classes for any breed of dog that loves harness work and Nordic classes for breeds such as  Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes that are more traditionally associated with working in harness. For those in the know the classes are in dryland mushing, cani-cross, bike-jor and scooter, the dogs are in harness and controlled by a competitor either on foot, on a bicycle, on a scooter or on carts or rigs. The dogs have great fun!

People are welcome to watch the event however they are asked to watch only at either the start or the finish lines as otherwise they can distract the dogs in the course of the race. All dogs coming to watch with their owners MUST be kept on a lead.

Races start at 8:30 and end around 14:30 on both days.

There will be a food truck at the event and portaloos.
