Do you know your onions? Members of the Etal Onion Club, who live within a ten-mile radius of the village, proudly display their wares at this annual show and competition. The club members grow large Kelsae-type onions and seed is carefully collected and distributed for the next year’s competition. The Onion Club are a green-fingered lot and there are classes for all manner of other vegetables and flowers.
This is a lovely local event, do come and admire the impressive displays and especially the giant onions! Light lunches and teas will be served.
Sunday 22nd of September, from 12:00 to 16:00 at Etal Village Hall.
The prizegiving and auction of produce is at 20:00 in The Black Bull – a generally riotous affair.
