The Black Bull Etal is the only thatched pub in Northumberland. It extends a warm welcome to visitors and locals alike, providing a friendly and relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy a pint, a glass of wine, or a cup of coffee.
There is seating outside the pub at the front and in the beer garden to the rear.
Dogs are welcome in the bar area or outside and, if you are eating, dogs are also welcome in the Function Room.
The Black Bull is now being managed and run by Mauricio Teles who hails from the Portuguese island of Madeira. He has worked in catering and hospitality in Northumberland for the last 32 years.
The kitchen is undergoing refurbishment so at present the full menu is not yet available, until then the Black Bull is offering light lunches of warming soup and sandwiches until 16:00 daily.
The full menu will be revealed when the kitchen refurbishment is completed. Chef Teles will be in charge of the cooking and is very excited about the new menu, aspects of which will change daily. At lunchtime there will be light options, with a few daily specials for people who want a little more. In the evenings there will be an a-la-carte menu with plenty of traditional dishes, plus vegetarian and vegan options. On Sundays the pub will offer a carvery.
