A new historical novel by Heatherslaw Light Railway's Christine Smith, with artwork by Imogen Aitchison, is on sale at the railway ticket office.

"Mary Angel" is a tale of one house, two lives and four hundred years of history. In 1603 Mary Angel is a young housekeeper at Northcote Manor.  It is the start of the reign of King James I, a time of religious division, superstition and intrigue. Four hundred years later Northcote is now a school where new pupil Rosie has just arrived.  As the girls tell their stories it becomes evident that their lives are entwined in a story of loyalty and love. But do you beleive in ghosts?

A little book with great charm to be enjoyed by all ages, 50p of every book sale will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
