The Italian Riviera comes to the Old Dairy in Ford

|||| |||| ||||

During the last few days of February and the first two days of March our little village of Ford will be under the influence of the Italian Riviera! This is no weather forecast but the promise of a delicious Italian week courtesy of Giuliano Piscina, chef and restaurant manager, who is returning to the Old Dairy following the success of last year's visit.

There will be three individual cookery classes on Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th culminating in an Italian dinner on Friday 1st March and Saturday 2nd March. Saturday is already booked but there are still places on Friday.

Everything will be Ligurian influenced, for Giuliano ran his own restaurant in Sestri Levante for several years and prior to that he was restaurant manager at the famous Splendido Hotel in Portofino. He has some wonderful stories about the many famous guests he has looked after and met, including Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

"Giuliano is a marvellous teacher," said Keith and Lynne Allan who run the Old Dairy. "Last year the classes were very popular and the dinners a great success. He is a real stickler for detail and insists on everything being truly Italian. He will be demonstrating a number of Italian dishes and there will be opportunities to get involved and of course enjoy the food with a glass of prosecco. Cookery classes cost £42 per person.

The dinner menu is still being planned; suffice to say it will be properly Italian. The price is £48 per person to include coffee, tea and petit fours. More details from the Old Dairy, Ford.
