Celebrating HM the Queen's 90th Birthday

|| || ||

The beacon to celebrate HM’s 90th birthday was held at Watchlaw on a glorious evening on 21st April with a good crowd.

Soup made by Kathleen Craig from Heatherslaw tea room, beer provided by Bear Claw Brewery from Berwick, and Brioche buns from Matthew Rawlings of the Great Northumberland Bread Company all helped the evening along. A message from HRH Prince Charles was read out, Happy Birthday was sung and £390.02 was raised for RABI (The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) which supports farming families, and of which Her Majesty is the Patron.

A Big Thank You to all who helped, not least Bob Nevins and John Docherty who made a fantastic beacon, and to all who contributed and helped to make the evening fun.

Lady Harriet Joicey
