Written in three weeks, Rossini’s masterpiece is one of the wittiest and most immediately appealing comic operas in the repertoire today and as fresh to the ear now as when it first burst upon it’s Italian audiences in 1816. On first hearing, the utter joy of one melodic masterpiece flowing into the next is thrilling to any audience. Opera Brava’s new production of The Barber of Seville brings together both national and international artists in an exciting and innovative period production which will keep you enthralled and amused throughout the evening. World class singing and tunes that you will go away humming.

Bring rugs, and your own chairs for comfort. We will be selling delicious food, and there will be a bar, but if you prefer you can bring your own picnic. Gates open at 5.30pm so you can relax and enjoy this incredible setting and feel the atmosphere build in the run up to this very special open-air performance which begins at 7:30pm.

We suggest that you check the weather forecast on the day so that you can dress appropriately, please remember to bring torches as it will be dark when you leave and the car park will be unlit. NB: No umbrellas are allowed inside the courtyard.
Car parking will be available in a nearby field and it is a short walk from here to the castle. There will be disabled parking spaces on a hard surface.
