Arts & Crafts at Lady Waterford Hall

Until 1st July work by the very talented Judith Bellamy, of Old Lace & Roses, is on display in the Artists' Cabinet at Lady Waterford Hall in Ford.

After retiring in 2010 Judith, who had always sewn, decided that she wanted to "learn the proper way to do it".  Embarking on a Creative Textiles Course at Northumberland College, she then moved onto Dressmaking and Tayloring at Kirkley Hall.  Judith said that this was 5 years well spent, learning the correct way to create, use and sew textiles of all different types.   She was encouraged to begin selling her crafts at the Creators Emporiumin Wooler, where she can still be found every Tuesday from 11.00am-1.30pm.

Judith's work includes patchwork quilts, children's clothing, bags and household textiles, and uses both vintage and up-cycled fabrics so that each item is a 'one-off', as well as some modern fabrics that really appeal to her and that will sit well with her other creations. Her work really is worth seeing, and with a wide range of prices there's something to suit everyone's pocket.
